Hi, everyone. This is global days for Darfur week, and churches sent guards in schools are rallying to protest Sudan`s genocidal regime.
A regime were responsible for the death of more than 200.000 people and displacement another 2.5 million. One thing many may not be aware of is china`s role in Darfur.
Last year, the UN security council passed the revolution calling for a peace making force there. China`s insisted the Sudanese government consent the mission. They didn't.
we spoke with Eric REEd of Sudan analyst estimate college. China has been Sudan`s largest supplier of arms over the last decade he told us. And roughly two thirds of Sudan`s crude oil, is exported to china.
China has leverage. he said. And with beijing Olympics approching, They are particular vulnerable to international pressure. So maybe it`s a bad time. China fell the heat.
