Georgian Army Moves To Retake South Ossetia

Russia and pro-U.S. ally Georgia were on the brink of war Friday, with Russian troops and tanks moving into Georgia's breakaway province of South Ossetia.
Russia said it had sent reinforcements to South Ossetia and that 10 of its troops had been killed after Georgian troops launched a major offensive on the small enclave, which borders Russia and lies just 40 miles from the Georgian capital Tbilisi. It is the worst fighting in the disputed region since 1992.
