The primary responsibilities of the APJ (Asia-Pacific & Japan) Small Business Budget Manager are:
• Working in the APJ Small Business segment to manage the regional MARCOM budget across each market / function [Mass MARCOM / Direct Marketing (DM) / Online Demand Generation (ODG)].
• The candidate will work directly with each marketing team and external agencies to ensure there is an accurate regional roll up of APJ MARCOM spend, and develop standard MARCOM spend and effectiveness reporting.
• Additionally the position will be involved in the MARCOM forecast cycle to ensure MARCOM funds scale appropriately and maximise revenue / profitability.
In more detail:
1. Consolidation of country level / functional level MARCOM budget for Small Business into APJ budget summary:
• Work with marketing managers, budget managers, APJ Consumer Budget Manager and external agencies to develop APJ roll up of working MARCOM;
• Manage non-working MARCOM regional budget [e.g. agency fees] for Small Business;
• Budgetary control over MARCOM enhancement projects;
• Work with vendor funding team within APJ and Globally and across Consumer and Small Business to maintain accurate record of 3rd party funds offsetting total MARCOM spend;
• Reconciliation to forecast – identification of forecast risks or opportunities;
• Frequency of budget consolidation each quarter – Pre-quarter Forecast / Week 06 Outlook / Week 10 / Week 12 Outlook / Quarter End Actuals.
1. Develop automated/improved tool to manage MARCOM budget consolidation process.
2. Maintain standard suite of MARCOM Spend reports and distribute to key stakeholders. Develop detailed standard budget format for budget spend categories and breakdown.
3. Develop and govern standard regional process to approve Incremental MARCOM spend requests and ensure that these are accurately reflected in outlook.
4. Work with Central Finance teams to ensure accurate & consistent MARCOM reporting across the region.
5. Ensure integrity of spend data into Return on Investment model.
6. Lead in quarterly forecast and outlook cycle to ensure:
• Available MARCOM funds are identified early in the process and budgets rolled out to functional MARCOM teams
• MARCOM spend by region / country meet corporate Opex scaling goals and internal CPB & ROI targets
• Maximise revenue / profitability across regionally and by country
• Co-ordination between central finance / planning / functional marketing
• Co-ordinate between Marketing ROI Country Managers, Marcom country leads, and agencies to find marcom effectiveness opportunities through media portfolio optimization or individual vehicle improvement. Set & achieve aggressive targets
• Improve Net Marcom as % of Revenue for better P&L.
1. Team Lead for Media Agency Management.
• Run process of calculating bi-quarterly agency bonus for Small Business, and work with ROI team to ensure integrity of data, coordinating with Marcom leads, agency, and media auditors—if utilized. Drive process of measuring Performance Bonus which meets all parties’ satisfaction.
• Bring on media auditors across APJ and manage the output of the media auditor.
• Be a central point for marcom reporting & metric requirements and APJ-wide Agency liaison for media metrics & analysis tool. Determine how APJ Small Business measures marcom and drive standardization between regions with ROI team.
Requirements:
• Advanced Diploma or Bachelor Degree qualified - preference for Marketing or Finance oriented.
• Demonstrated financial management/acumen skills/experience especially cross-functionally, preferably x-APJ region or Globally
• Excellent Excel skills and numeracy skills
• Deals well with ambiguity, demonstrates strategic agility
• Ability to build strong business cases and model financial scenarios
• Problem solving and process analysis skills.
• Good communication skills to form network across financial and business organisations to be successful in role
