It has many manufacturing, sales, distribution, technical and design facilities around the world
Position:
Mold Designer
Location:
Shanghai
Department:
Tire Applications Development Group
Responsibilities:
Create drawings and models used in the manufacturing of tire molds
Demonstrate proficient computer modeling skills
Ability to conceptualize 3-dimensional images and translate these images into tire molds
Understand the fundamentals of mold manufacturing processes
Ability to work well in a team environment
Requirements:
College Diploma (2-3 year) or University Degree (4-year) in Engineering, Mathematics Technology, Science or Design-required
Minimum of 3-years of relevant experience in tire mold design or in related industry -required
Experience working with “Out-Source” Mold Manufacturing Facilities-preferred.
Functional knowledge of tire engineering or tire design or manufacturing processes-preferred
Multi-lingual: English & Mandarin with sound skills in reading, writing & speaking English
Good communication and technical documentation skills
Proficiency with design of experiment methods with strong analytical and problem solving skills
Functional understanding of quality systems and concepts
Must be detail oriented, self-starting, and must be able to complete projects with minimal supervision
Proficiency with standard PC applications including: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Visio
Must be technically competent with computer modeling applications

The Mold Designer reports directly to the Director of the Tire Applications Development Group (CTR-Asia Pacific)
The Mold Designer is the primary liaison between the Tall Timbers Mold Manufacturing Facility (CTR-US) and CTR-Asia Pacific
The Mold Designer is the primary liaison between “Out-Source” Mold Manufacturing Facilities and CTR-Asia Pacific
The Mold Designer is the primary liaison between the Tire Applications Development Group (CTR-Asia Pacific) and the Asia-Pacific Production Facilities
The Mold Designer is the primary liaison between Tire Applications Development Group (CTR-Asia Pacific) and the Asia-Pacific Purchasing group for matters relating to mold purchases
