Actually the family education comes first and the parents' role model plays a very important role in forming your kid's values and the attitude towards life in general; the school education is secondary, no matter it is a highly selective public school or a prestigious private school.

Furthermore, the major(s) that your kid chooses (hopefully the kid loves that major(s) and he/she shares with the parents' "taste.") is the most important!!!

Based on my first-hand experience, I can only say this much: thus far I have been a very proud dad. Laughing
