Description:
Join a talented group responsible for the development of XXX Unwired
Orchestrator, the industry leading Enterprise Application Integration
(EAI) product, allows Applications, Databases, Web Services and Mainframe
systems to communicate and interact with each other; design and manage
Business Processes, execute Business Rules, and perform content based
routing and transformation to assure information gets where it needs to
be, in the proper format, and for all users in real time.
Responsibility:
Provides technical leadership requiring specialized expertise, creativity,
initiative and sound technical judgment regarding platform-independent
software system components.
Specifies, design, and implements platform-independent, complex software
system components and libraries for new products or enhancing existing
products.
Works independently and with a team requiring strong technical judgment to
execute complex development assignments. Designs, implements, documents
and maintains complex systems and applications programming interfaces.
Identifies alternatives to achieve objectives. Determines approach,
design, and implementation for unit tests for product components. Designs
conceptual approaches and does the necessary coding and debugging to
implement them.
Highlights exceptions and risks to the plan, identifying actions being
taken to address them.
Achieves the committed results within the time frame, functionality,
performance and quality standards established.
Education and Experience: BS/BSCS & 4-7 years or MS/MSCS & 4-6 year
Knowledge/Skills:
Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field of
knowledge
At least 4-7 years of software development experience or equivalent
combination of education and relevant work experience is required.
Two or more years experience with Unix, Windows, RDBMS, and
object-oriented design (i.e., C++/Java) are required.
Experience with development of integration products to include EAI, BPM
and BAM a big plus!
Prior experience and strong background in one or more of the following
areas is highly desired: J2EE, Web Service, Eclipse EMF, Java Swing or
Graphic User Interface (GUI) design and development
Understands how product components use, and are used by, other components
in the product.
Applies sound technical, projects and past experience in estimating task
size and duration.
Demonstrated ability to write external functional specifications.
Proficiency in spoken and written English a plus.

Responsibilities:
Major responsibilities for this position include the authoring of test
design specifications, test case development and QA process improvements.
Additional responsibilities include development of project test plans and
analyzing risk trade-offs to process.
Other responsibilities may include the development,
implementation and documenting of all existing Java based test harnesses.
May act as a technical lead for assigned projects/tasks.
Uses established software QA engineering concepts, principles and
processes to achieve committee results.
Identifies enhanced or replacement processes to achieve objectives.
Implements and teaches test development methodology.
Performs test specification, maintenance, execution, analysis, and code
reviews for assigned features.
Participates in product specification and code reviews.

Qualifications / Necessary Skills:
Minimum 5+ years experience as a QA engineer.
Solid experience with Java, with the ability to write clean Java code.
Minimum 2 years of test development with server-side Java technologies.
Minimum 2 years of working knowledge of XML technologies.
Extensive working knowledge of J2EE technologies, J2SE
technologies and Web Services technologies.
Minimum 2 years acting as project test lead or leading a group of junior
testers.
Familiarity with online banking standards a plus.
Experience with test automation and creating test automation.
Application server experience required.
A solid understanding of software development and testing methodologies.
Experience executing a test suite during a complete software development
release cycle from start to finish.
Proven ability to develop, execute and maintain test plans and test cases.
Understanding of various communications protocols (TCPIP, FTP, etc..)
desirable.
Proficient in various Windows operating systems.
Proficient in the following Unix operating systems (Sun/Solaris, HPUX,
IBM-AIX). Ability to write scripts a plus.
Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to interface
effectively locally and remotely with both business and technical
co-workers.
Must be detail-oriented, analytical, organized, systematic and punctual.

Technical:

·Provides technical leadership requiring specialized expertise, creativity, initiative and sound technical judgment to execute complex tasks. Assignments are focused on implementing broadly defined programs/projects within defined parameters.
·Identifies and advocates for new, enhanced or replacement technology to achieve objectives. Serves as the lead on the design and implementation of platform-independent solutions. Trains other engineers on project architecture and technology.
·Demonstrated ability to work at many levels of abstraction. Pays attention to detail while still seeing the big picture.
Education and Related Experience
"A bachelor degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field with 8 or more years of software development experience, or a master degree in the same fields with 6 or more years of software development experience."
·Two or more years experience in
Unix, Windows, RDBMS, Application Server or Portal, and object-oriented design (i.e., C/C++/Java) is required. Experience in database or Internet application development, with specific experience in back-end server or GUI-based applications, is required.
Knowledge of a second language is a plus.
·Work with little supervision.
·Prior experience and strong background in one or more of the following areas: Eclipse, SWT, GEF, EMF, Java SWING/AWT GUI, J2EE technologies and tool or graphical user interface (GUI) development is highly desired.
