The USA is still the number one big brother and the world leader politically, economically, and militarily, and it will remain so in the foreseeable future, imho. In these senses Japan is not even close to be a distant second; it is not even an opponent at the same level. Every time America asks Japan to jump, Japan asks how high. When the U.S. sneezes, Japan has pneumonia. Uncle Sam commands Tokyo to go north, it has no guts to go south. Japan worships the mighty and looks down upon the weak. Japan even does not know how to spell World Leader. Of course Japan is the largest creditor and the USA is the largest debtor in the world. So What! nine out of ten times the creditor is more scared of debtor for various reasons. So this cycle will continue: Japan exports, America imports; America sells its debts, Japan buys them to finance the American consumers. Same thing happens to China. No one can afford to lose the huge American marketplace. So everyone wants to keep the music going and the revolving door spinning until one day the music stops and everything collapses. (here 2000 plus words were lost in cyberspace!) My thoughts were gone! ![Sad](images/smiles/icon_sad.gif)
