GENERAL SUMMARY

Manage sales activities of organization by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Manage 6-8 direct subordinate sales directors who supervise a total of 150+ employees in the Sales, Customer Service, Technical Support and Product Service. Maintain responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units, while carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.





PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)



· Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.



· Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.



· Directs channel development activity and coordinates sales distribution by establishing sales territories, quotas, and goals.



· Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and assist dealers in promoting sales.



· Directs product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from sales line.



· Meets with key clients, assisting sales representative with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.



· Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.



· Recommends or approves budget, expenditures, and appropriations for research and development work.



· Evaluates and recommends distribution channel development programs.



· Achieves satisfactory profit/loss ratio and market share in relation to preset standards and industry and economic trends.



· Monitors competitive products and marketing activities.



· Participates in formulating and administering company policies and developing long range goals and objectives.



· Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine department or division progress toward stated goals and objectives.



· Confers with President and other managers to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.



· Serves as member of management committees on special studies.





SKILLS

· Strong sales and operational background

· Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent skills in persuasion and negotiation.

· Good knowledge of key markets; power generation, petrochemical, oil and gas, sanitary, food processing

· Good initiative and ability to work independently.

· Ability to understand financial information and analyze financial aspects of a deal.

· Demonstrated experience and success working in a fast paced, matrix environment satisfying multiple customers.

· Proven track record of meeting commitments with the highest standards of ethics and integrity.

· An excellent team player.

· Effective communicator, Able to tailor approach to audience.

· Excellent verbal skills – logical and organized

· Excellent project management/organizational skills

· Historically, has demonstrated understanding the difference between giving a best effort versus doing what’s necessary.

· Proficient in Microsoft applications: Power Point, Excel and Word

· Demonstrated ability to interface with top executive and senior level management, both internally and externally.

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.







EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent; or six to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
