Senior Marketing Manager
Location: Shanghai
Report to: General Manager
1. General Summary Statement/Key Responsibilities
Preparation and execution of marketing plans; Brand building; directing and managing Agencies; ensuring effective investment and control of marketing funds.
2. Typical Duties
a) Marketing Plans
Prepare, present and execute detailed Marketing Plans for both Brands, which will support and deliver the financial, volume, brand and customer care objectives of the business in China. This will cover strategic as well as tactical issues, and will include the full range of above the line and below the line activities, market research, and product planning.
b) Importer Marketing Plans
Provide briefing for Importers and subsequently agree their marketing plans, to ensure country wide consistency and sufficient Importer investment. Such programmes need to integrate with those of the Regional Office, and be on strategy.
c) Agency Management
Management of Lead and other agencies as required, to deliver objectives and to ensure maximum value from our Marketing spend.
d) Marketing spend control and reporting
Prepare financially quantified quarterly marketing programmes, present and obtain relevant approvals, and monitor and control expenditure within approved levels.
e) Other
Actively engage in the general management of both brands as part of the management team in the Regional Office.
Manage and develop a Marketing Team.
Promote understanding of China’s needs within the head office, leading to increasing levels of marketing support and valid product offerings.
3. Personal and Qualification Requirements
a) young, dynamic marketing professional, with previous automotive or agency experience
b) A strategic thinker, but one who can also put ideas into action and deliver results.
c) Excellent Mandarin and English language skills, both written and spoken.
d) An MBA or equivalent.
e) A passion for automobiles.
f) Strong management and interpersonal skills
g) Able to travel extensively, both within China and elsewhere.
h) Able to relocate within China as required
i) Desirable experience in automotive sector.
