Job Title: Supervisor -- Data Center Operations
GENERAL SUMMARY
Directly supervises and manages daily activities of data center operations personnel, assigns and ensures tasks are completed on schedule. May perform similar duties as subordinate employees as required. Requires operational knowledge of area of functional responsibility. Develops and communicates schedules to meet business onsite coverage requirements. Ensures a safe, clean and secure data center environment. Understands business impact of the work performed by the group. May conduct Customer Tours for Executive Briefing Center as requested. May also participate in systems architecture consulting.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
l tablishes budget forecast for Data Center jointly with Manager and ensures adherence to budget goals through cost control.
l Responsible for monitoring of all data processing and HVAC environments within the Data Center. Batch Job Processing, and designated domestic and international Business Applications, troubleshooting problems as required.
l Interviews, selects and or provides input to staff hiring / firing.
l Responsible for staff development and performance evaluations, participates in salary budgeting and recommends merit increases as appropriate.
l Hardware Vendor support management and management of hardware installation/relocation/removals.
l Perform and participate in system troubleshooting and resolution of problem events, escalating events per predefined escalation procedures.
l Provide daily status report to Sr. Management for their review and awareness.
l Administers established practices and policies and may identify enhancements or modifications to existing procedures. Responsible for meeting all Sarbanes-Oxley IT data center compliance requirements for their functional responsibility. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of information systems technology in order to continually improve current processes.
l Tape Management, ensures backup and tape handling procedures are current and followed. Ensures adequate tape resources are available based on trend analysis.

Education Required:
Bachelors (Tech) or equivalent
