我认识很多Chinese Americans,因为我来的时候年纪小, 跟Chinese American也一般很合得来。可是在这个周末的夜晚，我看到了三个麻甩佬，用蓝色高脚杯，一般配margarita的那种，喝着橙汁打锄大地,听叶倩文的时候，我还是呆住了。朋友们，这三条友是生在美国的呀。一个是儿科医生，一个是property manager,一个是管账的。。。我登时觉得，为什么美国的亚裔总是不融入主流社会，here it is.
Friday evening, and a mofo doctor, a property manager, and an accountant are playing Deuces Wild drinking juice and listening to Cantopop from the 80's. Wow, if there is an better illustration why we are seen as nerdy and uncool, I wouldn't know what that would be.
My niece is starting college this year, I am going to tell her, forget calculus, because calculus is easy... work extra hard on networking, because that's what will earn you dividend in the next 30 years. We have a ways go in the US.
