Objectives of Role:
◆ Day-to-day buying of non-strategic goods over the phone or via email/eRequisition tools - typically from an existing supplier with lower levels of spend
◆ Completion of buying process initiated by the user including supplier selection from pre-selected suppliers
◆ Tendering & contracting based on standard predefined applications and contracts. Identification of exceptional processes (maverick buying)
◆ Able to manage the day-to-day work of Vendor Management and Contract Management Analysts as well as Monitoring & Tracking Specialists. This requires a working knowledge of these areas and the ability to resolve issues and provide relevant managerial support as required
◆ Facilitate collaboration with onshore Sourcing contact(s), in relation to sourcing matters as well as vendor and contract management. Seek ways to improve service quality by initiating process excellence improvements
◆ Accountable for day-to-day management of staff and their professional development
Experience:
◆ 4-5 years general business experience, 2-3 years as a buyer (mid-level spend) in a middle sized or large organisation
◆ Preferably graduate with technically oriented degree and a demonstrable track record of commercial international experience in buying goods and commodities
◆ Demonstrated success in business process re-engineering advantage, ideally gained in Purchasing or Accounts Payable areas is desirable
◆ Ideally member of the local equivalent of CIPS

◆ Good written and spoken English skills; additional Mandarin and/or Cantonese an advantage.
