Release Engineer is the key member of our Software Configuration Management (SCM) team. The Release engineer will manage and own the source code management, development and QA environment management, automated build script management, perform the development, QA, stage and production build, work closely with IT team to set up, monitor and improvement production deployment infrastructure. The Release Engineer will also provide the analysis and documentation for build, release and configuration management processes. 1) Perform the automated build, deployment and configuration of software applications
2) Manage source code branch, merge, and manage the source code version control tool
3) Set up, improve, automate and maintain the development and QA environment – including database servers, application servers, and web servers
4) Develop, maintain and improve the automated build and deployment scripts and tools, and being to lead a team of release engineers to develop new build and deployment scripts and tools
5) Work closely with IT team to set up, monitor and improvement production deployment infrastructure
6) Document and manage the build, release and configuration management processes
Requirements:
1) 2-5 years of total experience in hosted web enterprise or consumer software development or release management
2) A proven track record of successful product life cycle experience – from the initial development to product release to product maintenance
3) Strong hands-on experience with version control system such as SubVersion
4) Strong hands-on experience with ANT or similar tools
5) Strong hands-on experience with scripting tools, such as Windows batch, perl or Python
6) Strong hands-on knowledge of J2EE application environment, such as Apache, Weblogic or JBoss, Oracle or MS SQL server
7) Successful product release experience with hosted J2EE web applications
Experience in working with globally distributed teams
