Reports to: Name/Title:Interior & Electrical Manager – UK
Responsibilities of Position:
1. Facilitate selection and qualification process for new suppliers and new commodities across China & East Asia.
2. Act as a local resource to assist with quality issues at suppliers across China & East Asia and facilitate the implementation of supplier quality improvements; Trouble shoot where problems arise, implement containment actions, establish route cause and implement corrective actions.
3. Ensure suppliers meet International recognized accreditation standards and that all suppliers operate safely and improve continuously.
4. Proactively manage shortage situations to ensure minimal disruption to the customer.
5. Manage new product introduction timing to ensure all tooling and components are delivered on time to the desired quality level.
6. Support purchasing and engineering teams when necessary.
7. Facilitate value engineering and product improvement where possible.
8. Ensure quality targets including PPM and JLQ are achieved.

Approximately 60% (including both domestic and East Asia)

Ability to reduce quality concerns.
Ability to sign off PPAP.
Ability to audit all suppliers.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies.
Applicants must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications relative to electrical, casting products etc;
Must be familiar with all major International OEM quality systems, e.g. VDA, TS and ISO systems.
Good level of working knowledge of PPAP, APQP, FMEA, Control plans, 8D Problem solving, GPDS, Lean Manufacturing Methodology and Capacity Verification.
Must be willing to embrace changes in a growing organization.
Previous process improvement experience is essential. Candidates must be actively using quality tools in a workplace environment. Lab based quality experience will not be sufficient. Strong computer skill & Project management skill are essential.
Applicants must be self motivated and able to work unsupervised.
Experience/Education Required/Sought:
Engineering graduate degree preferred. Materials graduate degree considered. 3year plus directly supplier management experience to electrical products in multinational OEMs is preferred. Any design and/or manufacturing experience in related tier 1 can also be considered.
