what hindsighters have is called survivorship bias-- we usually do not talk about how many firms got busted and disappeared, but we remember those glamorous industry leaders.
My point is that Wall Street will face major contraction in terms of employment. There is a fundamental shake of rich people's confidence in Wall Street, esp., after Madoff's case, just like in early 1930. Previous recessions did not have this kind of problem.
