Having read several posts about the consulting industry, I would like to share some of my personal experience with regarding to professional career.

I have been working in IT industry almost ten year, initially I start as a programmer and is working as a full time employee of a US company, after 911, I get laid off.. it was very bad at that time, but it was very good for my future careen because I learn that you have to control your future by yourself, not by somebody else. In order to make this happen, the most important thing is to make sure your skill set is always update and in big demand in market. With this in hand you san say that you are ready, no matter you want to work for a company or you want to work as a independent consultant.
I work as an independent consultant for several years. Since my skill set is in very hot, I have a lot of projects allow me to choose where to go; I can ask good rate + expense, my working schedule is Monday to Thursday. I can even get remote working opportunity…… as a professional consultant, what else you can expect more?

Now I am taking project in Beijing, and play a very important role in a fortune 50 company. One thing I would like to express is that if you are ready- I mean if you are good and are in demanding market, you can always have excellent chance to have good career no matter in China or in other part of the world. So do not blame others, just get yourself ready. Because if you ready, 此处不留人，自有留人处。
