This name, Karl Rove, struck me when first came across the “streetsmart” discussion on our BBS. He appears to be an average bookworm, a nerd or a geek if you might call him. But the fact is he is a winner, a political genius, the mastermind of all the current events and policies that profoundly affect every one of us.

He is on TV news today, rapping and dancing at the annual Radio/Television Correspondents’ Association Dinner. So I figure it might be a good idea to post here both the clip of him rapping like a nerd, and a fascinating documentary from Frontline PBS.

Controversial and Powerful, here is the man Karl Rove, "Bush’s Brain".

Karl Christian Rove (born December 25, 1950) is Deputy Chief of Staff to President George W. Bush. He has headed the Office of Political Affairs, the Office of Public Liaison, and the White House Office of Strategic Initiatives. For most of his career prior to his employment at the White House, Rove was a political consultant.

Rove’s election campaign clients have included Bush (2000 and 2004 presidential elections, 1994 and 1998 Texas gubernatorial elections), Senator John Ashcroft (1994 US Senate election), Bill Clements (1986 Texas gubernatorial election), Senator John Cornyn, Governor Rick Perry (1990 Texas Agriculture Commission election), and Phil Gramm (1982 US House and 1984 US Senate elections).

Election Day 2004
For hours, exit polls were indicating that John F. Kerry was the likely new president. But Karl Rove knew otherwise. He had his own numbers, and they dramatically contradicted the exit polls.
